At 19 years old, my mother, a working mother taking college classes at night, was able to buy a small home through the HUD (Housing and Urban Development) program. This house provided our family with stability and helped protect us from rising rents. 

As housing costs have risen dramatically, families are struggling to afford rent, and evictions have increased, Contributing to an increase in citizens who find themselves without a home and facing homelessness. As a representative, I will fight to expand programs that increase the supply of affordable housing and help move hard working citizens into stable housing.
